What is a Hearing Aid?

A hearing aid is a digital device which improves the clarity of speech and aims to ease communicative strain.  A hearing aid does this by picking up sound through a microphone.  The sound is then amplified, filtered and sent to the ear canal.

Hearing aid technology today contains:

  • Digital technology with superior sound quality and faster signal processing;
  • Virtually invisible styles for even the most severe degrees of hearing loss;
  • "Open ear" acoustics to minimise any unwanted ‘blocked up feeling’;
  • Automatic functionality to allow automatic background noise reduction;
  • Remote control compatibility giving the wearer more control over their listening needs once they leave the clinic;
  • Bluetooth compatibility to allow wireless direct streaming of external audio devices such as Mp3 players, iPods, and mobile phones directly through the hearing aid without interference.

At Town and Country HEARING, our goal is to improve your quality of life. We do this by providing the widest range of hearing device technology to assist your listening needs across all price brackets.
